It started out as a social awareness campaign here in Seattle, Washington. For several weeks giant forks had been spotted in the Seattle area showing up at landmarks, public parks, restaurants, the Sounders soccer match even at IKEA.
Groups of people stood on overpasses waving the oversized forks and holding signs that just read the name of this website whythefork.org there was a Twitter account was created @whythefork which started posting unusal tweets about the history of forks, Visiting SouthFork Ranch whilst attending SXSW and even stunts with fork lift trucks!
The question everybody was asking was "Why the fork?"
The answer was simply because it’s time to take action against hunger.
